PV is a venture business carried out by residents of the Nauta district in the Loreto department in the Peruvian jungle. The products are made in a homemade and traditional way, which gives that unique and national touch to each of their drinks and aphrodisiacs.
Religious and mythical beliefs have been popular throughout history in the Peruvian jungle. It is thought that there are drinks, and elixirs that can give people powers or benefits for those who drink them.
Breath of the Devil / Arise Lázaro / Tunche Loco are 3 of the traditional drinks that are offered to visitors and tourists, and they have a history and a long tradition, which makes them unique and renowned in the country. The main objective was to create a design that highlights the essence of the drinks and at the same time communicates the meaning and stories behind each one. I tried to invent the image of the characters in the stories and give them my personal touch.
For the illustrations, I went for a flat style but applied layers to get shadows and depth (mainly in the flames). Tried to make the silhouettes of the flames and their shapes to simulate the depth of the jungle and its swamps. I used “dirt/earth” colors for a “rustic” style.
Characters were inspired by tribal (and horror :P) masks and applied different colors to differentiate them. I also put a lot of effort into the typography so it was a mix between various fonts and vector touches to get the finals.
