Steam is a video-game digital distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation. It was launched in 2003 and offers anti-hacking protection, matchmaking servers, video streaming, and social networking services. It also provides the user with automatic installation and updating of games and community features such as groups and friend lists, cloud saves, in-game voice and chat functionality.
CONTEXT
Every user who has come across Steam surely knows that the interface is stuck in the past. Online we can find lots of bad reviews and many investigations and studies focused on experience and interaction that show that the interface is "uncomfortable" for the user. In recent years Valve has done its best to update its mobile and TV versions, leaving aside the desktop version.
The objective of this project was the search for visual and experience solutions around the current computer interface.
The main problem in the platform is the bad distribution of elements and the complex flow that it maintains, this makes the user feel dazed and confused when looking for a specific option.
I looked for the simple way of a clean and orderly design without leaving the essence of the current platform, from this we do not make an abrupt change in the users.
For the base design, change the gradients to solid colors since they denote more modernity and guide the grays towards a "blue".
GAME SELECTION
LIBRARY
For the library I decided to arrange the bottom side (Featured and Recommended) by crowding it into Tabs so that you can find and select the content without having to scroll multiple times.
In all the cards/cards he placed the name of each game and thus be able to remove the "redundant popups", the configuration option was also added which would allow the user to manage the game configuration without having to search for the option.

In addition to the change of colors and component styles, the biggest difference is the distribution of chats through tabs, which allows you to organize the conversations and thus not have to manage different chat windows.
